Our spacious and stylish 3 bedroom apartment is located in the south-western corner of Spain, on the urbanizacion of Costa Esuri, just north of the town of Ayamonte in the province of Andalucia, in the area known as the Costa de la Luz. Sited on the bank of the Guadiana river, the urbanizacion sits opposite the eastern end of Portugal’s world famous Algarve region, giving you a two-country vacation without having to move very far from your holiday base.
The apartment is in the Marina Esuri (Andalucian Village) area of Costa Esuri. Marina Esuri is built in a typical Andalucian style, with lovely private swimming pools and landscaped grounds. There is secure access and parking, so young children can play without worries. You can choose to enjoy some of the 300 annual days of sunshine relaxing by the pool, having a barbecue on our large terrace, or exploring some of the fantastic attractions within an hour or two’s drive from the apartment, in either country. Lunch in Portugal, dinner in Spain, perhaps?
Golfers will find the entire area a paradise. Costa Esuri has two 18 hole courses, and our apartment is literally a few meters walk from the western course that has fabulous views of the river Guadiana and the eastern Algarve. In addition, there are around 30 top class courses within an hours drive. Three of the closest are extremely popular with our guests, with good reason. Monte Rei and Quinta Do Vale are recently opened courses designed by two of the world's greatest golfers - Jack Nicklaus and Seve Ballesteros, respectively!. Castro Marim is also just a five minute drive away and has stunning views of Ayamonte and the Atlantic.
The lovely town of Ayamonte, with its medieval quarter in the central district of the town, is a five minute drive away and well worth exploring. It has typical Andalucian architecture, pretty squares and narrow streets to explore, lined with lots of tapas bars and restaurants. Beach lovers will want to head to the huge beach at Isla Canela, a further five minutes drive past Ayamonte. Apart from the sun, sea and sand, kite surfing is a popular activity here.
Further afield, you can explore the ancient cities of Jerez, Cadiz and the capital of Andalucia, Seville. This beguiling city is worth a day or two its own if you can spare the time. Many other towns and villages are waiting to be discovered, as is the magnificent Doñana National Park, one of the largest in Spain.
The nearest airport is Faro in Portugal which is a 45 minute drive from Ayamonte. Faro is very-well served by all the low-cost airlines.
